Bubny Embankment (Bubenské nábřeží) runs from the Negrelli Viaduct past the Holešovice Market to Komunardů Street. From there it is interrupted up to Jateční Street, from where it continues beneath Libeň Bridge to Holešovice Harbour.
The current layout of the embankment around the market dates from 1925–1930, when the area behind the Holešovice slaughterhouses (today's market) was redesigned. Before that, Vltavská Street ran along the river here.
After 2002, construction work was carried out as part of maintenance and flood-protection measures. The area around the harbour and behind Holešovice Station today is mainly given over to industrial and transport uses.
You can sail along this embankment for example by hiring one of our boats or steamboats.
