Kosárek Embankment (Kosárkovo nábřeží) is one of the shorter Prague embankments, running along the left bank of the Vltava. It is regarded as one of the most beautiful in Prague.
It runs from Mánes Bridge, passes the Government Office in Straka Academy and continues to Občanská Plovárna. The street was originally called U Vltavy, later Strakovo nábřeží, and has only borne the Kosárek name since 1961. It was named after the highly talented 19th-century Czech painter Adolf Kosárek, who died very young.
You can see the embankment on most of our Vltava cruises departing from Čech Bridge.
