On Sunday 22 March, Praga hosted Vltava Day, an evento that symbolically opened a new season on the rio and drew thousands of visitors to the margens and onto the barcos. The full-day programme offered visitas guiadas, cruzeiros gratuitos, demonstrations by the rescue services and atividades para famílias com crianças.
Prague Boats took part in the evento aboard one of the most iconic landmarks of the Margem de Rašín — the historic vapor Vyšehrad, which today serves as the floating Museu dos Vapores. Visitors had the chance to walk through its decks and interiors and explore the exhibition dedicated to the history of steamboats in Praga, including a look at the original steam engine and many unique technical details of this 1938 cultural monument.
The Vyšehrad is permanently moored at the Margem de Rašín and no longer sails, yet thanks to the new museu exhibition the story of the Vltava's steamboats lives on aboard her. Vltava Day showed how strong public interest in this piece of rio history still is — the deck was full of visitors all day long, and you can revisit the atmosphere in our galeria fotográfica.
